Hey, BW, lemme qualify that. If there is an existing rooster in the flock, a new rooster will start a war. The advice was for you as you said you don`t have one now......Pop​

I'm not sure of the 99%, but I certainly agree with Pop. Pay attention to her. A good mature rooster is very likely to take care of all members of his flock. Your biggest risk to new members comes from the hens. Not all roosters are necessarily good, but many are and they usually get better with age. Mature hens are much more likely to brutalize a young rooster while a mature rooster will normally just take over.
