Keeping a Turkey with Chickens

Did you quarantine the turkey for 30 days or more? You should contact your local ag extension office and ask about blackhead disease in your area.

My turkeys eat 30% protein but that may not be available in your area.

I've read that turkeys are can be carriers of a disease called "black head" that is fatal to chickens and that turkeys shouldn't be kept with chickens.

Other way around, chickens can be carriers with little effects, but black head is fatal to turkeys.​
