I'm looking for recipes or simple snacks to keep my chickens cool. My girls (adults and babies alike) have been in need of some cool food. I've been thinking along the lines of popsicles or slushies or something like that that they'll enjoy.Any suggestions?

Some animals will not eat frozen stuff. Plus, the body hates to have cold things added and will actually make itself hotter by warming up the cold things ingested. You're better off giving them room temp stuff thats high in moisture, like lettuce.

I used to have a malfunctioning, old refrigerator that liked to freeze everything.

The chickens loved it though, because they got to eat all the veggies that had been ruined. Cucumbers and the like were especially popular.

I thawed them out before giving them to the chickens, but you could just pop it in the freezer until it's half frozen and let them chow it down cold.
