Had to chase a coyote away last night from my ducks. The ducks were close to the coop but not close enough for the coyote to stay away. Now I have an injured Pekin hen. She has a small cut on her back and 1 leg doesnt seem to work right. Tucked her away with food and water under a heat lamp.

So sorry about your chance encounter with the coyote .

That's always scary. I've had coyotes outside the fence. One day all the birds were outside and the coyote came along and they all scattered into the air. The coyote didn't catch one bird. Unbelievable really.

Good luck! We still have not got our fox. I have one hobbling rooster left who was attacked.(i think he's alive because he almost lives on the porch now). And my pair of little cochins are still safe in their pen....i think she may be going broody again....yay, maybe the flock can be replenished! I also bought 3 babies and have 2 of them left.

Chicks now know Hen Hutch is 'bed'. HARD day, late home last night. Saw cloth for warmth fell over open door, when I got home, WORRIED. They managed to get inside regardless.

Mini Bantam Roo giving them a hard time. Have to throw bread two differing directions to keep him distracted. Production Reds are So Beautiful in coloring!!

I finally heard Honeycutt crow again this morning after being attacked by the fox weeks ago! I dont know if he will ever be the same, it is sad.

GOOD to hear, Ralph. I leave my 2 dogs inside until she lays or I sit on back porch until then...You wouldn't believe the sulking looks I get when i contact is made....
