Keeping Chickens Free Range

On the same note as yours Lazy gardener, I tried to give some eggs to the local food shelf, they refused them.

A Pharmacy Tech buys my eggs, sold some when prices were high, while shopping at Wal Mart. Course, I don't charge much. I get too much food out of them to demand a high price~~
I let friends know I'm selling~~

I do the same, but in the spring when I am saving eggs to hatch I get low on supply and lose some egg customers.

In the summer as I stop hatching I get a glut of eggs for a few weeks until others find out I have eggs again. That's when I went to give them away to the food shelf.. Besides I thought it would assuage my conscious for being a greedy capitalist pig....

Mine roam all day but they go to bed before dark on their own accord and I lock them up for fear of foxes.. We have a perimeter fence around the farm they stay within but that's the only limit

In Minnesota we can only sell to a licensed food handler, after buying a license ourselves as egg producers or from our farm or farmers market. The Food shelves are licensed. as I understand it,,,

I would get a license if I had a place to sell them. Otherwise, I will give them to friends and family or sell them from the farm. If I get too many the chickens get to eat scrambled eggs.
