There is nothing like sitting in front of a wood heater. The heat penetrates all the way to your bones. I freeze with just the central heat on. Besides, the wood heater sure does help us save on the electric bill.

Hi all! I do not have arthritis but i do deal with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. I have to fight through but a couple of days a week my husband has to do the chicken chores. He is also fond of them.

One of my biggest challenges is the muscles in my legs. They are uncooperative so when I sit on the ground i have trouble getting up. I find myself in this situation a few times a day. It's embarrassing and annoying but i won't let it stop me from communing with my chickens!

I agree about wood heat. I always need more heat than i get from the central air. Nice to "meet" you all!

I don't sit down on the ground. Hurts my joints too much to have to get up. I have a 5 gallon bucket I use to sit on when I'm out in the chicken pen. It's still low enough I can reach down and feed the chickens and makes carrying stuff easier too. I do remove it from the pen when I leave, otherwise I wouldn't be able to sit on it the next time I used it, lol.

hello,great thread I have osteoarthritis and fatigue I live on my own so have to do everything myself if I want to work outside the housework gets left .I only have 3 chickens left some days I find that hard work but I love them .at the moment we are having warm weather so I,ve been filling raised beds I have ,started planting seeds yesterday I have to hold onto something while I crouch down can,t kneel at all had to cut down my meds (codeine phosphate /paracetamol 30mg/500mg )they were making to much morphine in my body just take 2 at night now I have fenbid forte gel I rub on my joints helps a bit ,I just grit my teeth and carry on I think you are all marvellous the way you all keep going well I,ll finish now going to get out in the sunshine while it,s there

thankyou penny after three days in the garden I am now feeling exhausted but I promised myself I wound,t give in like the past two years .clearing the junk I had lying around seems to have cleared my mind weather changing again in a few days got to get last of seeds planted my granddaughter is staying tonight so I,ll not end up talking to the dog as I usually do lol good night all
