Keeping crows from stealing eggs & duck food

Shooting crows is legal here, almost encouraged. Thats not for everyone though

Your in a sticky sitation i wish i had better advice
Not encouraged, where do you get that? They must be causing damage with positive proof to shoot them. Otherwise: "Both ravens and crows are protected by the International Migratory Bird Treaty Act, which regulates lethal control of birds that migrate among countries in North America."

Not entirely true. There are 3 types of crows (Carrion, Cuban, and house crows) that are on the 2020 list of NON protected species.

We have a pair of crows that have nested at our place for four years. They keep predators away and are worth the loss of an egg occasionally and a bit of food. They don't bother the ducks, and they have trained me to put a few mealworms out when they fly to a particular spot on the gutter. They are clever birds and it's fascinating to watch their interactions. The young ones tend to get into mischief, investigating things and moving them around the yard. The worst thing is they wash rodent body parts in the duck pool and sheep water after the fields are hayed, which is annoying, but that phase doesn't last long. All in all, they're worth having around.
