Keeping Ducks Calm During Fireworks?

Hi all,

Any advice or tips on how to help keep our ducks calm tonight when neighbors are setting off fireworks to ring in the New Year?

When I lived in town close to the park where fireworks were set off I made sure the birds had a night light. The one time I didn't I lost birds when they crashed into walls, screen. etc. Better that they be able to see.

No, not as long as the fireworks are at the neighbors. Likely it will scare them. That's why the night light. If they can see they won't blindly hurt themselves in their fear.

Has anyone tried drowning out the booms by playing a radio or a television for their ducks? Crank it up and maybe they won't differentiate the firework noise from the music sounds.
I only have two ducks, and simply having them with me (indoors) dispels any fears the fireworks might cause. Perhaps spending the night with them is an option?

Oh nooo!! I didn't even think about this for my sweet indoor baby Gilberta!!! Anyone have anything for an indoor duck? I know for the horses (who are incredibly scared of fireworks) we turn ALL the lights on to minimize flashing and we play the radio pretty loudly because that's a loud noise they're used to. I guess for my indoor ducky I'll just keep lights and tv on but I won't be home for maybe an hour or so and I'm worried about her I know she'll be fine but it's hard not to worry about the babies!!!!

To our surprise none of the neighbors has launched any fireworks here!

But even if, i don't think my Duckies would have had a problem with that:
I was working with a hammer and power tools on their platform, with them inside their little chicken-house, they saw me making that noise and concluded »noise = no danger«.
Then we had severe Thunderstorms, that made me almost wet my pants - the Duckies sat on their platform, looking at the outside world, just waiting to be released to play in the mud.
Hunting season, bang, boom, shots everywhere - not impressing the Duckies at all.
Idk, if that's just our ducks or if ducks are more tolerant to noise.

Nothing like that bothers my animals. Only my Maremma gets scared because he is scared of gun shots.

Hope everyone's birds made it through the night okay if they were subjected to fire works. We only had the occasional gun fired which is normal for here. Everyone all tucked inside never make a peep.
