I have this breed and others and I have never used anything to heat them with. They have a coop or go in the barn. They have hay and an old blanket I put so they could tuck their feet into (due to here it got -20F with windchill two years ago).. anyway everyone was fine! Just keep them out of the wind with shelter. I had some hens still laying even, but you gotta get the eggs before they freeze and crack!
