Keeping Fish

I'll keep them both in mind, thanks guys:) Would you suggest that I use wood decorations(like driftwood)in my tank? Would it be dangerous for the fry?

This is one basic set up.

Sponge filters are used in many fry or shrimp tanks. Cheap and adjustable and fry safe.

Try Marimo Moss balls may rise and sink on their own.

Anna has parasites-_- He had a long white stringy thing hanging down... Could his discolored scales be related to external parasites, or are they a sign of internal parasites as well? He's in isolation, though I unfortunately lost track of the worm while transferring him. Is it possible that it went back into the fish? Is it dead once the fish poops it out? I'll be sure to treat him with parasite medication, and possibly the whole tank if necessary

Long white stringy sounds like poop. Could you post a picture?

It isn't there anymore. I think I'll treat the entire tank. I really wish pet stores cared more about their fish:-(

Are you sure he wasn't defecating? Long, stringy, white, sounds like poop, not any parasite I've ever dealt with. Before jumping into treatment make sure you have a correct diagnosis. Where was the "parasite" coming from?

Stringy poo can mean constipation or a bacterial infection in fish. Here are some pics.
