Keeping Fish

So the current from the filter won't drag them down long enough to starve them? The females will be swimming in the open anyways, and they have strong bodies with short light fins. I still want to reduce the current as it is very strong, any suggestions?

The only filters I'm familiar with are whisper hang on filters, those you can adjust the water flow on, does your filter have a flow valve.

He shouldn't starve. You can always wet the fish flakes or pellets so that they sink to where he can pick them up off the bottom. Your second male I find very beautiful! Where did you get him? Don't get me wrong, they're both beautiful fish, but the second one is just GORGEOUS IMO.

You mean the black butterfly double tail? Thanks! And - surprise surprise - Petco! I must've gotten lucky for the fact that nobody bought him! I would love to see his offspring, as black is recessive, double tail is codominant and butterfly is dominant^-^ <3

Petco? You're kidding... Well, go figure! I'll check my nearby pet stores next time I make a visit, which will probably be soon, feeding this menagerie and keeping them healthy and happy is not easy... ;)

Lol
Here are much better representations of their colors. Everything is running smoothly and seems fine, should I worry about anything?

My mom fell in love with this multicolor betta yesterday, so I want to get a good priced self cleaning tank and a similar or same fish for her. All she has to do is feed them and do monthly maintenance; I have all the supplies already since I started up my own betta tank.

I would clean at least every two weeks, but that's just me, the fish should be fine with less frequent maintenance. You may just want to "give" on of your Bettas to her though, that way she can think of it as hers, but you will be doing the work and it will solely be your responsibility.
