KEEPING MALE SILKIES TOGETHER

Some Roosters just don't seem to like each other. We have 4 bantam roosters 2 silky 1 silky mix and 1 mixed banty. I just put the silkys together yesterday and after a few sparring matches they have worked it out and are happy together. The two mixes have been loose together with no issues. Yesterday however we looked outside and our SilkyX had Jumped the fence seperating him from the silkies and Him and our White Roo where going at it viciously Even after we put him back over they kept at it through the fence. Both were bloody and looked awful. We had to put boards up so they couldn't even see each other.
Not sure why the two just couldn't get along, but sometimes they just don't.
Good luck with your boys.

Thanks for your replies. It's good to know that I'm not the only one who has a troublemaker.

I'm going to give him one last chance.
I'm going to try giving him some of his own girls. I have some young pullets and if he has his own gang, maybe he will forget about the other male and they will get along. It probably won't work, but I'm gonna try anyway. If it doesn't work, then I'll try to sell him or trade him at 4H.

Thanks so much for everyone's replies!

My silkie roos never had an issue with each other. I agree with Seminole. Once
they draw blood it's a problem. Once the other birds smell blood the may gang
up on the poor silkie.

I'd get rid of the more aggressive one. Seminole will take it from you.

Oh, you BOOGER! If I get it, I will name it chickenshadow and make it a voodoo chicken and stick pins in it!
