Keeping mildew out of drinker

I purchased this pvc drinker in hopes of increasing the amount of time between water changes. I read that apple cider vinegar would help keep it from mildewing. I added a couple of teaspoons when I filled it up and it's gross less than a week later. I'm thinking that being in Florida with super hot humid days probably isn't helping. Any ideas on how to keep it cleaner longer?

With the heat being what it is I think I would be using like 2Tsp per gallon. See if that helps. It's the amount I use in Arkansas.

I use one tablespoon per gallon of Bragg brand acv.
You need the acv. With the mother in it.
My three gallon starts to get slimy at ~ a week.
Not bad but I always clean it at or before then anyway.
