keeping more then one rooster

My rooster wasn't mean, but he wasn't cute and cuddly either. I mean, he did what I wanted him to do and beyond that he was just a chicken.


Thanks, all of my chickens are tame by the time they reach maturity - I make sure of that, besides it can make easier to handle in the long run. However I've heard of roosters turning on their owners due to lack of respect so I will have to be careful of that.
 
Yeah at the time I just didn't have the time to work with them as much as I work with my chickens now. I'm sure he would have been nicer, but every chicken is different
 
No I think that is a pretty good ratio. You would have enough for three too. I have three roosters in with 17 hens and they all do pretty well, but I'm kind of surprised myself by their cooperation with each other after reading up on some of the bad luck others have had with too many roosters.

Wow, that is good luck! Thanks for the advice. I assume they'd get along better if they were raised together, right?
