Keeping pullets sired by aggressive roo?

I hope I'm in the right forum, sorry if I'm not.

Anyway, our Australorp rooster is about a little over a year old and have been pretty sweet (He wasn't cuddly, but he was calm and ok with us being near).
But about a week or two ago he started to attack me and became quite unpredictable overall towards me, mom and dad. After that, it just went downhill and he started to get worse, attacked me again, then attacked my dad and if you turned your back, he would try to sneak up on you etc. So we decided it would be for the best to cull him:(

But I still kinda want to hatch some eggs after him and I know that the aggression could be inherited in the cockerels, but what about pullets? (And cockerels hatched after said pullets?) I thought that maybe I could hatch the eggs, only keep the pullets and then get a nice rooster to keep with them and the adult hens.

So what do you guys think? Would it be worth a try or should I just skip this idea?

As a general rule, we don't breed or keep offspring from any animal with a bad temperament because ease of working with our animals and farm safety is #1. That said, these are chickens not horned sheep or cattle. The level of risk is much lower and if he had other qualities you feel your flock needs, I say give it a try.

Eta: Is the pairing that special to you? There are soooo many fun hatching eggs available out there.

Good point and we do try to be the same way and cull those with bad temperament. But I think that since he was so sweet before this and is really beautiful, I got a little bit attached.

I guess not really and the biggest draw for me to try, is because we have a beautiful mixed hen that lays a lot of eggs and that I've wanted to hatch chicks from for a long time. I feel that a combination of these two could be good egg layers that look pretty.
Other then that, it would more or less just be a "Wonder what this combination could look like" (We got a mixed flock)

So I will follow your advice and not hatch any eggs after him

Thank you so much for the answer, though:) And I were kinda expecting to hear something like this, but I thought I'd give it a shot anyway, since you never know.

You're welcome! There is certainly no reason you can't try it. I personally feel like the possibilities with chickens are boundless so I would probably move on and try something else, but that's just me.

Yea, if it were my own chickens, I'd probably go for it.
But since I moved out last year, it's my mom who got the biggest say, since she's the one taking care of them (and dad takes care of them too, but he's not as interested as we are, haha).
And we decided I would ask on the site and see if we should or not and when I told her the reply, we decided that we would just wait until we have a new (hopefully) nicer rooster and hatch those eggs. Hopefully, she'll let me buy some hatching eggs, though.

I really hope I can move out of the city soon, so I can keep my own chickens, haha

I'll cross my fingers for you. Living in the country is the best, but no matter how much room you have you'll probably always want more chickens!

Haha, yea, I agree, I miss it a lot! I like my apartment, but it's just not the same.
I'm already at the "always want more chickens" stage in a way...I want to breed purebred Orloffs, Cornish and several other breeds, oh and let's not forget a mixed group too and probably more when I get there etc xD...So, I'm prepared, haha
