Keeping the neighbor's chickens out of my yard

My dog would bound right over a 3 foot fence even if he couldn't step right through it. Thinking that 3 non-electrified wires could keep a dog contained is absurd

Because dogs have no problem going between fencing lines without it being electric and I don't think you can have electric fences in towns
Fences can be electric if they are plain wire, have danger-electric signs attached that are readable from both sides and are not positioned on the front boundary.
Dogs can be trained to not cross a boundary with kindness and rewards so a 3wire fence or less will do the job.
The original poster asked for solutions to her problem and I have offered her my way of solving it.
No guns, no stealing of chickens and no crying to the police or sheriff or local authorities.
How about we let her decide what's best for her situation.

You obviously have been too busy to bother training your mutt.
I resent your absurd comment. Just because my opinion and experience differs from yours, it doesn't deserve your attitude.

You live where?

For the purpose of containing animals, this is not feasible here. My town, at least, does not allow electric fencing. I don't know if many towns if any here do. It still does not solve the problem of the chickens coming over (although the dog does helo). Say, for instance, the chickens came over and doggie ate them. The dog owner I believe is responsible for compensating for livestock losses. A cheap fence is a total no-go particularly where dogs are concerned.

Wow, that's a bit harsh.
I was holding back my true feelings.
I thought this channel was to give and receive knowledge about chickens and not a place for someone to throw abuse.
I will in future keep my opinions to myself.

Because chickens are birds and birds fly. Even w their wings clipped...they can flutter over a 5’ one in 20 seconds.

Not if I clip them. They cannot even do 3 feet when done properly.

I’m sure you are correct. But that’s no guarantee that the neighbor clips his/her chickens wings. Odds are no.
