One of my week old keets had an injury this morning. It was fine last night, but now one leg is hanging sort of sideways from the hip. lt is flopping around. Is this treatable and what should I do? I have experience using bands to fix early leg problems but am not sure if this is the right thing to try for this.

Keets can be susceptible to slipped tendons. Their legs are fragile and very easily broken.

You can feel the leg to see if the tendon is slipped or if it is broken. If it is a slipped tendon, you can try putting it back in place. To do so you need to fully extend the leg and gently move the tendon back into the groove on the back of its hock. It is unlikely to stay in place and will need something to keep it there.

If it was mine, I would cull it.
