Kelp Meal to feed chickens

Is Kelp Meal for the garden the same as Kelp Meal you feed your chickens? Is organic kelp meal like this ok to give my girls as a supplement?



I know 'food grade' is important, so maybe this is a stupid question since 'graden grade' is not 'food grade' ... or is it and it just isn't labelled that way because who (but for backyard chicken owners) want to eat kelp meal?

[On the bag your will find the manufacturers phone #. Call and ask to c/s rep and ask them if someone familiar with the item can tell you if there are "other ingredients" in the product. If it's 100% kelp, and it's organic, you should be good to go. Be aware that each manufacturer is different. Do not tell them why you are asking! They get too worried about creative uses and shut down.

I did this with bone meal for getting my dogs to eat. Only one mfgr was actually "pure" the others had used plant safe preservatives.
