[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Deep in the Irish countryside, where none dare venture, live creatures of myth. Many say the tales of the water horses who live among the shadows of the forest and lurk just beneath the waves are only a mother's tale to scare her children. But they are wrong. Around every bend and behind every tree hide horses like no other. They are faster, stronger, and more fierce than any horses there have ever been. Their bodies are slick and smooth and tattooed with strange swirls and unheard of designs. Kelp and seaweed strands twist among their manes and tails that flow like living water. Behind their soft lips lay fangs and the teeth of a tiger. Their eyes pierce the souls of all, it is said that their gaze is so strong it can sometimes cause humans to have a sudden heart attack or pass out and go into a coma. Their coats are a mystical array of strange colors. Their slippery fish-like skin can become sticky in an instant, causing whoever happens to be on the other end to be immediately bound to them. Then, they drag their culprit below the murky water until they are dead. They feast on the heart. If there is nothing else, they will settle for seaweed and kelp. These horses can shift into a semi-human form, they cannot stay for more than one whole day without falling deathly ill. Their human forms are flawless and beautiful, but for small things masked by their outstanding beauty: gills, seaweed and kelp in the hair, canine teeth, no pupils, oddly colored skin, and long sharp nails. For very short periods of time, they can mask their strange features and appear as normal horses. Special Keplie saddles and bridles will give them impossible speeds and endurance while in their mortal horse form. There are five rules all must obey or be cast out from the tribe: 1) never let a captive live 2) never endanger the tribe 3) never kill a tribe member 4) never take, hurt, or kill a child 5) never bring a mortal horse into the tribe. The legendary tribe of the Celtics live just off the coast of Ireland. Those who have broken one of the five utmost rules of the Kelpie live closer to settlements and farms, occasionally raiding them. This tribe of outcasts is called the Shadows. Cadeyrn~ Calm and patient, he never lets his anger get the best of him. He handles problems well and keeps himself calm and collected at all times. His tribe relies heavily on him for support, comfort, and reassurance. If one of his tribe is killed, he will avenge them to the very end, seeking revenge for wrong-doings and maintaining a steady balance that can only be broken by his death, absence, or a sudden uprising of the Shadows. Deep, ebony black coat with a long flowing mane and tail. His forelegs are laced with ghostly white striped that seem almost the glow, especially in the moonlight. Along his left flank is a triple swirl that is the same glowing white color, as are the double swirls on each shoulder and the single swirl on his left cheek. He has an extremely heavy and muscled body with smaller, shorter legs and a straight nose. His eyes are pupil-less swirls of pale grey. He wears a necklace with a single, rather large, indigo sapphire that is rumored to hold the souls of all he has drowned. His mate died giving birth to his only daughter, Boudicca. His mane and tail are the same royal blue as his markings. Two strands of kelp are entwined in his mane, and a single braid of kelp is in his tail and reaches down to his hocks.
Special Features: A white crescent moon marking on his right shoulder. He has a gold chain around his neck, attached to the chain is a large diamond in the middle of a horseshoe.

Elisedd~ Kind, gentle, and caring but still firm and in-charge (most of the time anyways). He is the oldest known Kelpie in all of Ireland. He loves children and is very good with them, devising colorful stories to tell them just as the sun sinks below the Irish shoreline every night. He is very wise and knows many herbs, remedies, and cures. His coat is blue roan, originally a royal blue color, but mixed with much grey and white from old age. His grey-black mane stands straight up and never grows, while his forelock is very long and covers his entire face and turquoise eyes, and his streaked black, blue, and white tail drags along the ground. He has a short pony build with a stock body, thick little legs, and a short thick neck. His body is very heavily tattooed with many different swirls, lines, and markings from the tip of his nose all the way down the his hooves, they are all a pale sky-blue color. A large necklace hangs around his neck with a large broken swirl charm on the end and a smaller one hangs just behind his ears with a half swirl charm. Above each hoof is a rope with a small triple swirl charm on it. All of his family have passed on, and his Healer duties prevented him from ever taking a mate. Swirls of black creep up her legs like they were messily painted there when she was born. Genovefa's long, flowing mane, tail, and feathering give her the appearance of floating on air when she moves. Dark seaweed is lightly entangled in her hair. Her eyes are dark pits of nothing, filled with no emotion; ever.
Special Features: Genovefa is especially skilled at luring in unexpecting humans with her superb acting skills.

Atlanta~ She has anger issues and can't stand the unfair treatment of others. She's terrible with children, and is hesitant to take a mate in fear she won't be a good mother. She is very boyish and tough, she makes friends of stallions easier than mares, who she find to be over-sensitive, unlike herself. Her coat is a lovely deep dapple grey with a rather short darker grey mane and tail. She is tall and light, with a beautiful dished face, a short neck and body, and long, slim legs. Her eyes are a continuous swirl of black. She has no markings and only a few odd strands of kelp down her cheek and across her shoulders. Her light build and long legs make her very stealthy and quiet, while her dark coat helps her blend with the trees, making her the perfect assassin that you never see. Boudicca~ Level-headed and calm like her father, but terrible in a crisis. She panics easily and is easily scared because of her past. She has nightmares often and constantly fears there is someone after her. She has an extremely attuned hearing and some say the best in the whole tribe. Her mane and tail are black as night and they are soft and long, with many strands of kelp entwined with it. Her coat is a strange olive green and her eyes are a soft lime color. She has no extra markings but she wearing ankle bracelets of braided kelp. She is very tall with refined features like that of an Arab, a deeply dished face, and a long arched neck with contrasting Thoroughbred legs and a large but lanky body. Her mother died giving birth to her and she has only her father, Cadeyrn. Her name means 'victory' in ancient Celtic. It was the name of a 1st century queen of the Iceni. (horsecrazychicklovingkid)
Andara~ Sweet, gentle, and seemingly harmless. Her soft appearance is only partly true, she will protect her family and her tribe with the ferocity of a tiger. She wishes for peace and is a beacon of hope in troubled times for the whole tribe. She is small and light like that of an Arabian with a dished face, arched neck, and an almost fragile-looking body. Her mane and tail are long and soft, without a single knot or tangle. On her left shoulder is a tattoo of a large heart with two lines twisting around it from the top to the bottom on each side. One thickly braided strand of kelp reaches down from the base of her tail to about half way down her legs. From her hocks down a single strand of kelp twist down each back leg. Her coat is a soft lavender blue, her mane and tail are a pale silvery blue color and her eyes are light lavender. Her tattoo is the same silvery blue as her mane and tail, as are her hooves. He is often silent and thoughtful in contrast to the talkative one he wishes he could be. His opinion is very strong, but seldom does he voice it. His actions speak louder than any words for most. His coat is a silvery-grey color, and his long mane and tail are coal black. He has light feathering that is also black. His eyes are sea-green and he has no tattoos, just a random strands of kelp draped in various places over his body. Maria: A fierce blue mare with darker flecks peppering her coat. She is slender but well-muscled with wide, broad shoulders. In battle she is quick and deadly, using her strength and speed to her advantage. She is very sarcastic and doesn't like following orders, prefering to do the opposite of what people tell her to. However, underneath this thin shell of defiance she is very insecure and quite timid.

Merlin~ He has a raging temper and often lets it get the best of him. He is easily distracted and expects his orders to be acted upon and followed immediately. He doesn't tolerate ignorance and believes if you're going to do it, do it right and do it well. Brilliant purple-blue indigo coat with a darker indigo mane and tail with light feathering of the same color. His eyes are perfect white. His body is a Friesian build with less feathering and a taller, more lanky build. He has a dark indigo double swirl on his right shoulder. Two strands of kelp twist down his forelegs, one across his shoulders, and one over his poll. His mane and tail are long and light and slightly waved. Flame~ He has a fiery red hot temper, and even the slightest things can set it off. He is extremely high-strung and jumpy, most things "surprise" him as he likes to put it. He flirts with all the young mares, therefore none of them take interest in him, much to his dismay. His coat is a deep Inca gold color and his mane and tail are a fiery burgundy-tan. His eyes are perfect Inca gold as are his hooves. He has a blood-red tattoo of a sun on his left shoulder, and another on each cheek. One thick braid of kelp comes down with his mane right at his poll and another from the base of his tail down with the rest of it. Temperament/Attitude: Very charming and endearing, her voice is very beautiful, like silk. Although she has the charm and grace of an angel, she can be a true warrior. She has a way with words, she can persuade and convince with ease, although she is more then likely to force you to do something rather then talk it through.

Maestra has a slender figure, elegant and lean, with silky leg feathers that compliment a pure white pelt with a gorgeous sparkle under the moon.

She has a large star-type tattoo on her left flank, a diamond on her right shoulder, and a heart on each cheek. Single strands of kelp wind down all four of her legs. She wears a braided necklace, attached to lops of kelp around her back and under her stomach. She is tall, long bodied, and light with a long nose and a long, smooth mane and tail. Rose~ She is sweet and sensitive, much like her mother, but can't stand the notion of killing, she wishes to one day leave the Kelpies and live with humans, this would be breaking the 5 rules of the Kelpies, so she keeps these opinions to herself, and prepares for her future plans by living off of kelp and other plants, she refuses to eat flesh or drink any blood. Her coat is a soft rosy lavender color, her mane and tail are a dark magenta along with her light feathering. Her eyes are pale lavender and she has a lavender double swirl on her right flank. Strands of kelp lay across her back, poll, and around her forelegs. She takes after her father in build, a smaller heavy horse with a straight nose and thick mane and tail. Ghost~ He is cold, hard, and flat out mean. He is very harsh and hard, and believes the easy way is the wrong way. He is a lover of war and longs for the death and destruction of the Celtic leader, Cadeyrn. He despises the Celtics and their notions of peace. Every night he plots the downfall of the steady balance that keeps he and his tribe at the will of the Celtics. He claims to have no living family. His eyes are a fiery red-orange color. His coat is a soft, ghostly grey, hence his name. His body is thick and heavy and he bears a great resemblance to Friesian horses, with thick feathering on his feet that completely hide his hooves, and long sturdy legs under a long and muscled body. He has an almost roman nose, with a thick, tangled mane and tail and an extremely long forelock that hides his demonic red eyes. Svea: A tall, slender mare with a long, lithe body and a narrow, very pronounced face. Her coat is a dazzling silver color, making her sometimes appear as though she were glowing, with darker swirls covering her entire body. She has a long, silky mane and tail with strips of seaflowers in them. Despite her cruel nature, she is strikingly beautiful and uses her looks to her advantage. On the outside, she appears very vulnerable and naive, but on the inside she is a mastermind of trickery and deceit. What she lacks in size and physical strength she makes up for in speed and agility, and her mind and mouth work just as fast. She is very sarcastic and rude, never seeming to care about the needs or feelings of others. Though she is second in command of the Shadows, she strives to be leader and would jump at the chance to kill Ghost and take his place. Despite this, she is painstakingly patient and is content to serve as his loyal deputy until the right moment arrives.

Her mane, tail, and feathers are incredibly long, to the point her forelock covers her black, soulless eyes. She is often mistaken for a simple Gypsy Vanner horse.

He didn't do it on purpose, but none of them believed him, and he was forced out, marked as a murderer. Under the new guidance of Ghost, every day his thirst for blood is greater, that of Cadeyrn's especially. Ghost took him in as a son and now he has become a real killer. His coat is blood-red Coat with a gold-scarlet mane and tail. His eyes are dark burgundy-red. He has a thick, heavy body, and short, stocky legs under him. His mane and tail are short and thin, his forelock barely reaching his strange eyes. He has a broken swirl tattoo in each shoulder, he was not born with them, they were put upon him when he was outcast into the Shadows. She has a thick, stocky body, with longer, thicker legs, heavy feathering, and a roman nose. She is blind. Her body is creamy white and her mane, tail, and feathering are deep golden-tan. Her sight-less eyes are soft brown. Her family are all dead. She didn't break any of the 5 rules of the Kelpies but her mother died giving birth to her, her father died instantaneously and she was born blind, their first foal. His eyes are pale grey at times, but at other times, can seem to turn as dark as a storm cloud. He shows promise to be a very large warrior.

Family: He considers Death Whisper his only family.
Other: Used to be a Celtic, until they kicked him out for something he didn't do. His name was Akira when he was with the Celtics, but he changed it to Ankou when he was kicked out.
