We found out only Turken dead today. We are new at raising chickens so know nothing. The Turkens back side looked enlarged and we couldn't remember if this was normal. Could she have been ill? Also we noticed our Americauna's (spelling?) all have a bald spot on their backs (same area) could they b I'll or are they pecking each other? We've never witnessed this.

Welcome to BYC. It could have been from vent pecking if her vent area was bloody with feathers missing. Was there any signs of a vent prolapse? How old were they? Cannibalism can occur from overcrowding, too little protein in the feed, boredom or not getting outside to range every day. Certain breeds may be more aggressive than others. Make sure that your feed is 16-20 % protein, that ecery chicken has 4 square feet of room, and getting outside daily for a few hours. Spend some time watching their behavior for any aggression, and separate bullies.
