I'm near Clay City in Powell co. Egg production was insane up until the la.st week of June, had a bounty of eggs. Now I have a major outbreak of broodies and a minor moult happening. That turned production nearly off.

How is the egg production coming along with you all?  Most of the readers on our blog say theirs has dropped a lot with the heat..  Just curious if you all have experienced the same thing?

Not too bad....have 4 hens no broodies at the time :cd but 1 is molting . I average 2 eggs a day. Sometimes 1 sometimes 0

I only have three of laying age. 2 are broody and the other is laying God only knows where. No eggs in a week. Time to go on a July Easter Egg hunt..

Hi I live in Louisville and have had chickens for a year now. Boy have I learned a lot! Quite a bit from BYC and the rest was from experience. Still learning. I am looking for silkies near me, I'm finding they are hard to come by. Anyone have any suggestions on where I can find some? I want a mix of colors for pets. Thanks!

There was a ton of them at the Kentucky Poultry show in Frankfort this spring. They have another show in the fall. People were out in the parking lot with birds for sale. See the website.

I have tons of birds for sale ranging from 9-15 weeks old! Well like 35 rare breed chickens (some layers) I'm located in Pikeville ky and you wouldn't believe it but there is no poultry sales here ;-(

Just joined BYC today. We are building our coop in 2 weeks

I know I want a couple guineas, marans and prob australorps. I'm close to E-town but really don't want to travel more than an hour.

Looking forward to hearing from the bluegrass folks!
