OH
MY
GAWD!!!

I just made the best dinner ever in my whole life!!!!

I grilled asparagus, and shrimp scampi (cause I've been dying for seafood lately) and I made t-bone steaks for everyone else, cause they don't know what tastes good, and don't like seafood. Then I made a big salad.

The grilled asparagus is by far better than boiled or steamed. It was very thin stalks and I grilled them for probably 10 minutes (turning once) with some oil (I just sprayed it on with that oil in a spray can), garlic powder, salt and pepper on them. I didn't have a watch, so I timed it by how long it takes me to smoke a 100's cigarette

(about 12 minutes as I recall from days when I punched a time clock).

Thank goodness I still have some asparagus in the fridge - I may have to make some tomorrow night, too.

Oh, and top that all off with a one pint sized margarita

And where's mine?? I made some homemade hamburger helper type crap, egg noodles with hamburger, peas, and mushroom soup. With a side of black beans.

I'm the only one to eat it so far, Cris won't touch it (no surprise there) and dad is outside fartin' around with something! It was surprisingly not bad, for hamburger helper type crap. I didn't feel like getting the eggs and plants off the big freezer to get the brats out.

Chuck~~ I can hold the buttercup baby for you, that's no problem. I just have no use for yet another breed of chicken!

I also have some mille fleur cockerels that need new homes! I hatched 6 chicks a couple of months ago, turned out to be 3 girls and 3 boys.

Pretty good actually, if I didn't already have 3 PAIRS!! Deffinitely don't need 6 roos!

Tractors work real well, I'm thinking of just using tractors for my breeders, then building a coop for the other chickens. I'm probably going to make a shed of some sort for the quail. I honestly don't know what exactly I'm gonna do, I'll figure it out eventually!

Gosh, I'm terrible about knowing how old mine are!! I know about how old they are, but there are only a few that I know for sure their ages!!

I bet they are growing, have you had bantams before?

Sune42 Welcome!
What type of chickens do you have?
We have a nice swap coming up in May. I am taking a group of mine if it does not fall on same Sat. as Kentuckiana show.
Nice to have someone in my neck of the woods.
Again welcome,
Karen

Welcome Sune42. Feel free to jump in with suggestions, questions, comments, funny stories, whatever.

Well I almost added a new creature to the zoo here yesterday, but luckily I still had errands to run so I didn't want to leave it in the car will I was busy. I almost bought a female guinea pig yesterday. I held her and petted her, but resisted the urge, they are almost as cute as a Silkie!
