Well, whatever got into Jr.s nest came back last night.
I went out to check on everyone before bed and saw her perched on the top of the duck pen wall - so I went to check the barn and her nest was torn apart this time. Poor girl. At least she got away unharmed.
I am glad that I took DD's eggs though, I doubt that she is "wild" enough like Jr is to have escaped unharmed.
I wish the dummies would learn to set eggs where it's safe - in their own coops and pens.
got another calf last night
I REALLY need to get pics of my herd of cows
I have 5 of them now - the one last night is all red except for one stripe down at the top of one of his hooves.
We've been really lucky so far and none have gotten scours or been sick at all. They are BIG calves when they come to us - for two day olds, they are absolutely huge. Well, BamBam was smaller, but the other four are monsters
My first calf, Mookie, is just about three weeks old and he is already eating grain and hay. Bam Bam is eating grain, and Opie will sometimes, the other two haven't been offered grain yet. (actually it is a calf feed, with decox in it). I may try to wean Mookie a week or so early, since he is already eating so well.
