I just saw the one you were speaking of on Craig's list. I believe that is a new one..why would they hold it the same days as Scottsville? That's going to mess up those of us that go there. The buyers will be split up.

I have quite a few buyers from Horse Cave that come to Scottsville..now the other one will be closer for a lot of those folks. I think I will call them and see if maybe they would change it next month..it would benefit them as well to have it on a different weekend.

The Wig Wam is closer to me than Horse Cave. Was there a name of any kind on the one being held at Horse Cave?

Where can I get information on the one in Scottsville as well? It does seem odd to hold one on the same day. People won't be able to attend them both, unless of course they spend only part of a day at each. But with gas prices headed back up with a vengence, they will likely just choose one to attend. That makes it worse for the sellers, and the buyers.

They are splitting up the buyers and the sellers..not good for anyone. I will call them..maybe they will reconsider for the future.

I just talked to a guy from this new sale and he said it is run by the WigWam people. The reason it is the same day as the Scottsville one is because they have something going on the other Saturdays of every month. (horse sales, etc) As I figured, he didn't know about the Scottsville one. He said they are charging $10 for setup fee.

As for me..I think I will stick with Scottsville, (at least for now). I have taken birds to the Horse Cave Flea Market before and I found people not as willing to pay much for a bird. At Scottsville I don't have any problems getting my price on anything.

I think too that it has the potential of ending up like the Sano auction..cheap, sick birds. I have had several of my customers complain that they bought birds at Sano and within a week they died. I know that my experience there was that people wanted whatever they could get for next to nothing. I went twice and that was enough for me.
