Ms. Lewis Rich :

Fr Chuck !
Ya have no chickens , could this be true?
If so I will send ya old unused bator and eggs.

I think he has some coming for his bator - but he may take ya up on it anyway - One incubator is not enough (so I've learned

Flowerpot gave me her old bator but not sure how well it is working yet. I have it set to low but it is maintaining the temp around 100 degrees. I just have to keep my eye on the water, as I checked it today and it was dry. Right now I have 23 Silkie eggs and 8 Mille Fluer D'Uccle eggs in it. If all works out they will hatch either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. I have 25 chicks coming next week from Ideal, I will only be keeping 5 of those, 15 will be going to Flowerpot as she wants to have regular layers and dispose of her Bantams, and the other 5 are going to another lady from Shelbyville as a Christmas Present for her little girl.

But I would be more than happy to accept your offer of the bator and eggs as well. Thank you very much.

Hey Meri---sorry we weren't able to stop by today, we stopped at walmart after getting back from Campbellsville, and when we were done there it was already getting dark. I had to rush home to feed my ducks and piggy and bunnies. The dogs got jipped tonight, but they get fed twice a day anyway, so they will live til morning. Plus, Baby is getting fat

I had to use a flashlight to see when I was walking to the pond, so I didn't trip over any road apples

Yes I have the large vent holes plugged in the top and there is condensation on the viewers now that I have refilled the resevoirs.

Temp is still hovering around the 99-100 degree mark, they are in the dining room and the temp in there is around 60.

I can't wait til mine hatch out. After this, though, I'm done unless Specks and the girls give me the bug to hatch some of their eggs (no eggs so far, stress of moving, I guess). I'll get some more shipped eggs come spring, but for now, I'm done with shipping - it's 15 degrees out there !!!!! the thigns would probably freeze before they got to me if I had any shipped.

Actually, hubby had a slight hissy fit (only slight, since I reminded him of a few things
wink.png
) cause I have a bid in on a nativity set I saw on ebay.

He asks me "how many of those do you need? we're out of room for stuff in this house." so I asked him "How many flags have ya bought in the last month? Where ya gonna put those?" Three of the flags are too big to even display!! they're gonna sit in the closet, but he had to have them - so he shut up after I said that

One flag is like a 12' x 8' !!! not something ya hang on a wall. it's cool, but sheesh!! BUT - I never say anythign to him about the stuff he buys, just so he can't say anythign to me abotu my weird collections

.

so, I'm waiting to see if I win the auction.

Well, I'd love a hand carved one but I didn't see any like I wanted (like I saw before on there).

I may have to carve my own

eta - I like this one cause it looks sort of antiqued. Not really colorful and gaudy. although, I do like some fo the colorful ones, just I like simple/plain ones better.

I have this vision of meri's driveway and road frontage lined by 20 foot tall flagpoles with all these different flags on them, sorta like at a carnival or the United Nations building!

even worse - most of them are WW2 flags. He has Russian, Nazi, American, British, Japan...

The really huge one is Russian, I believe.

eta - hubby collects just about anything WW2 - he has tons of junk, err... I mean, cool stuff from that period.
