How about anyone else? I had a chicken die the 26th and basically that same day my REALLY young silkie went broody. She only began laying Dec. 7th! I had three eggs under her, 1 of her own eggs and two ee eggs. They were all mixes, but they were going to hatch on my B-day. I candled and only the silkie egg was good. Then I went out today and the egg was gone. There was dried yolk on some of the other eggs, but not even a speck of shell around, so I don't know what happened. I wanted to get some eggs to put under her so she wouldn't set there for a month and end up with nothing.

I was just wondering where he was located at, I won't have any money until the 5th of January, and I am going to try hatching some more eggs one more time.

I'm picking up a 10'x 3' x 3' cage from somebody on Craigslist on Tuesday as well, he said he kept quail in it before. It's on legs so I just might use it as the second brooder for the 7 pullets I have inside. They are now 3 weeks old. I'll have to try and post pictures soon!.

Much as I'd like a roo, being as how I live in the city and am only supposed to have 4 non crowing birds and 1 crower, I don't want to attract attention to the chickens for the time being.

Besides if the egg experiment proves successful this time I'm sure I'll have some roos!

I cant believe I was not online for 2 days and missed someone having Cochins for sale.

Are they all spoken for?

But I did have quite a week. We are having to remodel our basement. A waterline froze and busted and we had to gut it all. Along with carpet in 2 room upstairs. Friday I had 2 goat babies born, Tuesday I had 1 born and Wednesday triplets. WOW

congrats on the babies, and if anyone wants that white cochin bantam, I am willing to let it go, I just figure if it is still there tomorrow when I show up and not claimed, I'll take it.
