I tried to get Layne into a different school in our system because that one had more funding to help with Laynes Section 504 accommodations but they wouldn't let him in because the school is overcrowded right now.

He was really bummed because he was told this would be better and will follow the accommodations request. His school claims to have no funds to help with his Dyslexia accommodations...All it is, is some changes to his schedule and work load, doing his open responses orally, he not supposed to be made to take the achievement tests etc... For some reason his teachers aren't cutting the amount of work back for him so he is always getting checks for not finishing his work. He works slower and they are supposed to shorten his assignments(not make them easier just shorter). Gonna have to get a 504 team meet together to complain about there not being any noticable changes that were requested and recommended. It is so frustrating, and Ron never goes with me so it makes it harder because when I get upset I cry so then I can't get my wants/needs for Layne across where they know I'm serious.

Yeah, Cris started back yesterday. So far we were late then and today he is really being a handful!! I called to let them know I would be picking him up for a doctor's appt, and they asked if the dr. would increase his meds??? What the hell? He just got on it!! They need to really chill out about it. We probably need to give it to him earlier. I wan't giving it to him till 9 or 9:30, he just didn't need it there. But when i went to drop him off yesterday, they had a radio that was too loud for me, plus the TV on. What do they think? If he gets stimulated by things like that, why do they do it? They could at least turn the stupid radio or TV off! If they want the kids to be quiet they need to have the noise to a minimum. I swear, these people don't have any sense sometimes!!

Update on chickies - the Black Australorp is doing good, and there is now a little reddish chick in there - also one of Cindy's eggs.

no idea if the others will do anything or not - didn't see any new pips, but there are at least two of them now.

They are obviously not very educated in how the meds work...It usually takes a few weeks to get into the system good. Some meds you can see a difference right away some not. Have you been giving it to him daily since school ended? Have to stay on a regiment. Don't let the school determine how or if he needs meds, they are not Dr.s. Tell the principle they need to do more training on how to handle/teach ADD/ADHD children. And they can't refuse him an education. They need to establish more control if they can't handle him. Layne knows I gave the principal permission to spank if needed, they've not had to. The principal did show him the paddle though because he asked to see it. That was all it took, he didn't want to be spanked by that.
I am always sending Laynes teacher links from a website I read on that is always showing tip and hints for teaching and raising ADD/ADHD children and how to live with ADD/ADHD and I bought the school a subscription of ADDITUDE magzine.

Thats awesome Meri!!! I don't know what the red ones are mixed with but they are a beautiful color(maybe red sexliinks or something too dark for RIR chicks)...They are Olive Eggers, but I had one hatch out of a brown egg last night. I PM'd Tazcat to find out their mix. Then of the 3 bantams she sent that survived the PO, one is black with white underneath, one is red with brown speckles across the back, and the other which is also the smallest is marked like the red one except has more brown coloring than red.

I know your pain and PO'd feeling. I have tried to call my hubby's in since Sunday and called the local office yesterday , she said it was due to too many people being layed off and trying to get on to claim benefits.. our fine governer should do two things, 1st , bring more jobs to the state , and second , give the unemployment office money to buy more system softwear. My uncle was able to get his in via internet around 8 am yesterday morning , but he had been getting the same messege as the rest of us had , username and password not correct.. Let me know when it is back up , u can email me at [email protected] I will let u know if I get thru as well.. Good Luck ..

PICS EVERYONE!!!! I am sooo glad I am finished for a while....Sheesh! Couldn't make their red show up natural but it is deeper red than these pics show.

My makeshift newborn brooder til they're a week old then off to the big brooder.

All 8 chicks, the littlest one in the center is Laynes and it was also the last to hatch.

Laynes chickie, hopefully it's a girly, he always seems to pick ones that end up boys...

The other two bantams...The black is Cortnis and the one next to it is mine.

Enjoy!!! Cindy

Cool!!! Hopefully it will be one of Karens eggs. The two I had here didn't develope. I think I brought the rest to you. Who knows as forgetful as I am. I want to get some more of them off of her this Spring, I think they'd be pretty birds. The one I have here that is from a previous hatch is still blue and I'm thinking it might be a girl...Not showing any darker blue feathers around the neck yet or pointy thin ones. Course they're only about 8 weeks old too.

ETA: They are BLRW/BCMs. Forgot to say the mix... hehe

I have to go out to do chores soon, so I'll check on it again, see if it hatched yet.

I hope the chickens will go in without an argument tonight - George and Shug are already in
