Kentucky people

I personally don't mind what breed they are. I just didn't want Cornish x or another "meat" bird. Thank you again for the quick response.

You would know if they were Cornish X by now as they would be much larger than the black chicks. Meat chicks grow very fast.
 
That is what I've read. I've never owned chickens before now and I don't have a reference point for comparison.
 
Any other east Kentucky people know of anywhere to trade/buy/sell chickens. Other than the paintsville stockyard. I'm from Martin county.
Howdy I'm in Floyd co. The stockyard is about it close by. Pikeville tsc tried to have a few trade days but I don't think they have had any this year
 
I'm at least part time from Lawrenceburg! Can't wait to go to the swap the 7th in the new location! Hopeful I'll have a better idea of which chicks I'm keeping before then.
 
Thanks for asking, and sorry for the late reply. We're probably looking for somewhere around ten. Give or take a few, depending on what's available and what we determine the final coop size will be.
