Yeah, I'm thinking the last ones hatched can go with the next to last ones hatched after they are moving around really well. But even that is gonna be cramping the brooder space. They'll have to be moved again soon - when they get a little bigger.

I TOLD hubby I need to stop setting eggs until I have the 110 out of the hatching room. He said "naw, just keep filling the bators, we'll find room"

Gotta get him outta bed earlier to make your brooder coop!

Are you going to keep the new babies in the playpen then? Didn't you say you had an empty donkey water tank? You could put them on your porch with a good heat light and cover them up, then at least you won't have to find room in the house. But idk what kind of predator problems you have there. Might have some gutsy ones that would come on the porch to get them?

Oh yeah, I forgot about that, and I checked it out the other day, too - got it all cleaned up and everything - if I can find a place to put it in the room

I'll probably use that for the cornish cross - easier to clean out - I can just haul it outside and hose it down.

I could make room if I moved out a table or two from the sewing room.

heres some additions to my flock as of yesterday at the auction:

any idea on the breed of this chick?

my buff polish roo

the 2 cochins, 2 males, or a pair?

The two banty cochins look like one Mille Fleur deUccle and a cochin mix maybe - the tail is sorta long, and he has a big white earlobe, but he's pretty - both look like roos to me. I did have a cochin roo that had a longer than "standard" tail, he was pretty and nice, - just wasn't show quality. The cochin mix roo looks like he goes with the red hen ya got down there - but the pics are sort of large on my computer and kind of blurry. Does the hen have feathered feet and is she bantam?

Not sure on the chick, too early to tell what it is. It sort of looks like the chicks I've been hatching out

Your buff polish are beautiful - great score on those.

Well, last night I had 8 pips out of 19 eggs, woke up today to 4 chicks and 5 pips, but another chick just hatched and one is zipping - so far so good.

I have to move Fluffy and Gump outside today (if possible) might have to wait til tomorrow to do it. Gump is bored, so at night she cheeps and chirps and sings constantly - it's driving me nuts

Fluffy is just as happy to hang out inside and be petted Gump wants something to do with her time.

I'll be going out to Sano friday if it isn't raining. I'll have to

to make some room in here.

I figured on taking out some boxes of chicks, like 10 chicks per box and selling them for 15 bucks a box - see if anyone takes em for that.
Plus any extra duckies I have leftover after today.

I got the duckies moved to the chicken run - but the run is a muddy mess, and they are in heaven playing in a big puddle - it's gonna be fun trying to catch them and put em into cages - I'm gonna be covered in poopy mud before I'm done. Thank goodness I have a net to help me catch them with. It still needs to be repaired, but it'll do for this time - even if it just slows them down it'll be helpful

Yeah, neither one of the cochin roos are cochins. The one littler one is a mille fleur d'uccles, like Meri said, the other looks like a silkie mix with that crest. And judging by the earlobes, I would say you have a silkie/rosecomb mix. Other than that, I have no idea.

I have had a very busy weekend...I ended up with 43 banty chicken's and 1 Black giant roo...oeg's...blue cochin's...silkie's...polish...frizzle's and a trio of rabbit's. My kinda weekend...oh yeah...rabbit's are gonna be having baby's in 18 day's...my first rabbit's...

What kind of rabbits are they? I sold all mine the other day

Couldn't afford to feed them. Well, couldn't afford to feed mine and my dad's, and as long as I had rabbits, he wasn't contributing to the feed. 11 rabbits went through 50# of feed in a week. That would have lasted mine at least 3 weeks, if not a month. Oh well, I'll have to get some more.

I had a rabbit once. Do to an unfortunate horrifying, sudden rear end explosion he perished.

I've never wanted to own another rabbit since that incident.

Look what I got today from Connie's farm in Versailles...

She's a six week old white Polish. My daughter named her Princess Chicken and wanted her to wear the princess dress the chick is sitting on in the picture.

Isn't she cute??

Connie didn't have the Houdans I was hoping for. My search continues...why doesn't anyone have Houdans?
