Kentucky people

Well as soon as the mailman comes I'm off to the wilds of Southern Kentucky to go get Shelley and take her to Sano. Hope to see a bunch of you there. I'll be driving my new 2000 Maroon Dodge Caravan. So hopefully all will go well and I don't get lost. Got the cooler loaded with Mtn Dew, Pepsi, Coke and the cell phone charged!

We may be going out to Sano, but not til later than usual if we do go. I don't really have anything to sell, much, so we were thinking of going to watch the actual auction for a change. I have to feed the cows at 7 PM, though, so it'll be depending on that. I might be able to fudge it and feed them at 6:30.

Jon is supposed to be leaving today (he's all packed, Joe is driving the U-Haul up there).

Now I just have Sam to get out of the house

Oh, and Shelley, if that pup is an anatolian shepherd, my sister had an anatol mix dog- he was a stray, that ended up staying for the rest of his life and became my brother in law's best friend in the entire world. Elvis "left the building" two years ago, and poor Tom is still missing that dog.

Heck, I even miss Elvis - he was one of the best dogs I've ever known - very smart, very sweet tempered.

I have a anatolian that is a female for sell. She is 3 month's old and a good dog. My son bought it and then they moved to town and now I have the pup. 50.00 or trade to something...My heeler's want to eat her...lol

OOOOOOOOO I want her, I just have to talk hubby into it. Not sure if I can, but I do want that dog

Of course, if ya find a buyer before I can talk him into it, go ahead and sell her, I don't expect ya to save her for me.

Well, I just got back from Larry's

I got four ducks - a pair of snowy calls and a white female call and a black east indie female. The female snowy call is tiny!!! (and louder than any of them

) I've been wanting some snowy calls

These have the shorter bills like calls are supposed to have, so maybe it'll help with my breeding flocks.

I'll get pics after they settle in a bit. They are slightly freaked over the big pen

Update on the pup:

First off, I took those pics about 9 pm yesterday with the flash on on the camera, so that's probably why they are off-colored and fuzzy.

Turns out that he does have webbed feet (my GR might have too, I didn't know it was a tiny spot between their toes!

), so he has some kind of retriever in him. And he still has puppy (milk) breath, so he is a little baby. I would say between 8 and 10 weeks old. He is adorable!! I have his pics up in the other pets forum, and the general consensus seems to be that he is probably a great pyrinese mix. Wouldn't surprise me, as that's what I first thought when I saw him. I'm sure he'll be BIG, Chuck thinks he won't be as big as I think he will, so we'll see

Hey Shelley, too bad I bought those ducks today - Hubby wouldn't let me get the three beautiful LF game hens for 6 bucks each down the way from you

They were very nice looking hens, too - looked to be POL pullets not red combed yet.

I'll get me a few to go with George sometime. I guess I just have to pick my timing better

well, not "too" bad, I love those ducks

Hey girls I'm thinking the Cochin or the BA has started laying already? I got a small(not tiny just a little smaller than medium) egg for a couple of days in a row last week and nothing since like them... They were brown with little specks. Could have also been BC starting a new cycle(even though her eggs have been a consistent tan color) but not sure cause she didn't lay for a few days or our resident Black snake had been eating eggs. Now BC has gone from laying in the afternoon to having the egg warm and ready for me as soon as I open the hatch in the morning. I asked in the predator threads if a hen will change hehr laying schedule to keep a snake from eating the egg but no one answered last I checked.
Could it have been the Cochin or BA with the Specked eggs? Seems a little early but the Cochin has color in her face... Hope I didn't start feeding them the laying mash too soon, that was all I had cause when I planned the chickens I was thinking POLs.
