I just wanted to brag on my hubby

I have had 5 hens go broody on my so far this spring and no where to put most of them so my hubby took some pallets (we got them free) and built me some "broody boxes" He made them big enough so I can leave the hen and chicks in it for a while after they hatch. That way mom and babies learn eachother and the rest of the flock can get to know them. It also gives the hen a safe place to sit and to go with the chicks at night. Here are some pics

he put hinges on the top so it is easy to feed and water

He also made a "screen" to go on the top to let in extra light and air flow

Gotta love him!

Reposting just in case someone is interested and missed it

I have a 4-ish week old gosling, I assume it is a white chinese. I bought it at Sano last weekend thinking it was an embden but I'm pretty sure it's not. I vent sexed it as a female (but that doesn't mean I did it right!

). I paid $8 for it and would sell it for the same, otherwise I'll take it back to Sano this week.

I've also got 1 embden gosling available, this little one is a boy and is about 2 weeks old from my flock. Asking $6 for him.

Then I've got 9 baby bunnies that I'm also taking to Sano this weekend if anyone is interested. They are mixed bunnies and will be medium sized (5-7 pounds). Their mama is a Havana and daddy is just a bunny

See how she/he walks? Embdens don't walk upright like that

Thanks.. I love it when the chicks kinda pop out of the feathers like that. Now I just hope my other 5-6 broody hens will wait till these 5 are done mothering. I guess if they don't I will just have to sweet talk hubbing into making a few more.

Shelly: Hope you sell all your animals
