Just came back from there...not too many chickens today lots of ducks. We try to get there about 7:30 Hardin Co time.

Thanks. I didnt end up goin, my honey is on vacation this week & we got busy with outside projects but I will make it there one of these Wednesdays. How do mixed chicks sell there. I really need to check it out for when I have extra roosters/chicks/ maybe hens/pullets to sell. I actually have 30 3 week old mixed chicks right now that a girl & her friend where suppose to buy from me... well for the past 2 Sundays shes tell me shes coming & never shows, so I'm done doing business with her. Now I have all these cute lil chickies to play with & 5 guinea keets

The longer they are here, the more I just wanna keep em, lol

OH NO ... Guinea Keets! Just what I've been looking for, and they didnt have them at the Farmers Market in Leitchfield when I was ready for them! Now I have to wait until Spring! Will you have more?

I was under the impression that wheat and oat had gone gmo too. I have been informed I was mistaken

I am very interested in local scratch, as chemical free as I can get. The 2 farmer's I have contacted so far both grow soft spring wheat. Hard wheat has more protein, so I'd like to find that. And sunflower seeds! My chickens love those things. I was hoping for some volunteer sunflowers, but only had a couple. Next year I'm going to have to be more serious about planting some methinks.

We grow winter wheat. Hardin Co Milling sells BOSS....it has SOOO many benifits. I NEED to go pick me up some badly. Cecilia Farm Service doesnt sell it even though its right here by the house and I keep asking for it for convenience! LOL

And she is a beginner chicken keeper and never owned Guinea's! Boy is she in for it, she asked if they were loud! LOL Anyway...will you have some again in the spring?

The main day in Leitchfield is Wednesday but there are also always people set up on Saturday mornings (weather permitting). We got 3 Frizzle chicks and 3 Cochins there this past Sat. morning because we stopped by on our way to TSC.

When we sell - Wed OR Sat are good days. Just depends on your chicks/hens/roo's. Healthy birds sell FAST! If you have a good history and are known for having good birds then you will get what you are asking for them, and wont have to lower your price. Stop in and take a look at the birds ... not all are, let me say this tactfully, oh I just wouldnt bring it into my flock to save my life or for no amount of money! Some brought there are just sad! So when they see a good bird, people pounce on it. If you sell reg. You meet good sellers, and ones that are honest. ANYWHERE though you have to be careful. It can be scary bringing any bird in your flock!

Hey neighbor! Your just about 5 minutes from our farm!

How do I get in touch with them? I didnt order friers or broilers this year, just no planned out space like last year, but plan to in a couple weeks perhaps ... the Amish did it for me last spring, but they really didnt want to do the amt of birds I had them do. Cant say I blame them, and they didnt package.

The chicks were $2 each - which I thought was a great deal on fully feathered chicks but we got an even better deal by taking all 6 chicks for $10.

I have some Silver Laced Wyandottes (5 hens and 2 roos - all just over a yr old) that I have been trying to trade for some Golden Comet hens or pullets with no luck. When I posted ads to trade I got several replies wanting to just buy them outright, so I priced them, pulled the ads, and no one ever showed up to get them. Is there anyone in southern or south central KY with some large egg layers that they would be willing to trade for these Wyandottes? These are pretty birds and are laying well, but they lay very small eggs for the size birds they are and I only keep them for eggs. I think I'm feeding an awful lot to these ladies for such small eggs. I miss my GCs

That sounds great, and only a 5-minute drive from our place in Glendale. We don't really have anything to swap, but we'll definitely come down and check it out.

The Sonora Farm Supply place is great, and they're able to order organic layer feed, but require a full pallet order up front, which we can't swing all at once.

Looking forward to meeting you.

I will have a few guinea keets, Dominiques and my granddaughter will probably sell some of her blue cochins.
