Kentucky people

Does anyone know of a feed supply store in South Central Kentucky that sells ORGANIC feed???
I have always purchased Blue Seal, but now that I moved to KY, there are NO Blue Seal dealers here!

Fortunately, I bought four bags before I moved here.

So if any of you South Central folk are aware of an Organic feed supply in the area, puhleeeze let me know!

There is the Sonora feed store, which is exit 81 off of I-65. And a guy westish of Bowling Green - he is much cheaper, but it does have soy where the Sonora store has soy-free feed.

I'll check out Sonora Feed since I'm primarily interested in a soy-free organic feed.

Hopefully, they won't charge too much.

I was wondering if there was anyone in the N. Ky region (Grant County) that would be willing to give me some hands-on experience with chickens? Reading books and webpages can only teach so much. I'm going to be getting some chicks next spring, and they will be for eggs and meat. I would love to see first-hand how the butchering process goes. I tend to be protective of my animals, so this part of animal husbandry is a completely new experience. I want to know that I'm not going to wuss out.

Like I said, the chicks won't even be here 'til next spring, so it doesn't have to be any time in the near future. But if you're nearby and willing to teach a beginner, please let me know.

I get my organic layer from Fresh Start Growers in Louisvlle, it runs $30 for a 50 lb bag. I called the place in Sonora and Pennyrile just to compare. Sonora was $32 per bag (comes from VA not local) for layer and Pennyrile was 18-20 per bag depending on what protein percent you wanted(50 lb bags). That's a big difference in price! Has anyone purchased from them before. The guy was super nice on the phone and explained they only do custom milling so it does take a couple days to have it made. I'm not real close to them but if I was going to buy multiple bags at one time it would be worth it. I may also be interested in going in with a few people to buy more to offset the cost, I'm near bardstown. Pennyrile feed does have soy but i'm not sure why that's a bad thing? Maybe someone can fill me in on that?
Thanks
Gene

I'm going to be selling all my stock within the next few months. I'm going job hunting next week and hope to be able to find an apartment close to wherever I find a job.
I have Black Copper Marans, bantam cochins, silkies, Serama, old english game bantams, lakenvelders, barred rocks, old english and american game LF, guineas, ducks, geese, pheasants, doves, pigeons, button quail, and rabbits. Also several mixed breed or 'singles'. If interested in anything, let me know.

Depending on whether we can find a place that allows pets, we might have 2 dogs and 1-2 guinea pigs looking for homes as well.
