I'm from Ohio but most of my family is from the Southern US. When I went out west to Arizona to see family they said we sounded like "hillbillies" lol. I said you need to go down south I don't have an accent...lol. I have a friend in Massachusetts when I talk to him on phone if he talks to fast I have trouble understanding him ..Glad we all don't talk like. Makes it more interesting meeting new people and fun to share differences.

Lol..that's for sure. Like we say banty instead of bantam around here. I was almost 30 yrs old before I ever knew it was bantam and not banty..lol

Me and my friend were laughing about this...He is from Georgia and if you can imagine someone with a Southern accent trying to use a British accent on the word Khaki, you would know why we all say it different ...lol. no one could take ya seriously sounding like that...not even sure he could do it without cracking up mid sentence.

I just realized as I was practicing the British pronunciation that I can't do it without going into a prim and proper attitude...it's just not natural...thank God it's only us 2 here...lol
