Do you use paper plates?

I don't use paper plates. I'd rather spend the time and energy on washing a plate then spending the money on something to use once and throw away. But I'm cheap and not lazy.
We never had ac until I was in high school and we got a window ac once. Most of my life it never was a big deal because I've always spent more time outside then inside.
The kids are weak. They enjoy it far more then I ever did so I've had it for years now. I admit the older I get the more it's becoming nice to have.
I still never use it in my truck if I'm alone.

I use them when a lot of people come over because I only have an 8 set of dishes. They're the same dishes I bought when I moved out of home 30 odd years ago, with only one of those teacup saucers gone, but I never use those anyway. Don't really have the cupboard space for more but you can stash paper plates just about anywhere.

I had a heat pump installed a few years back and love it. Works similar to A/C. We only need it maybe 20 days a year up in this neck of the woods, but it's nice to have when there is a scorcher.

I stock biodegradable single use stuff in my emergency stuff, originally for hurricanes and it was super useful for the Arctic freeze that hit us in South Texas in late January this year, it left us without water for 2 weeks. All my pipes exploded even with leaving it running a trickle. Not that it mattered because the central water lines cracks as well. We don't insulate pipes here in sub tropics, however it seems silly that we don't in retrospect. If I didn't keep a horse trough full and collect rain water it would have been dire. So long story short 😆 Sometimes.

We use them for parties and such and will continue to use any left over plates and such after, just to be nice to the dish washer. If we have a fancy dinner, Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc. we use the good stuff. My everyday stuff doesn't last in my house, lots of chips, broken dishes and glasses. I don't do the dishes usually because, being so short it is hard on my back.
DD had a room full of fast food stuff in her room a while back, I told her I didn't want to hear about it if a mouse or rat woke her in the night. She cleaned up and now I only have 2 dinner size flatware forks left in my set. I guess she fixed me. :rant
