Hi everyone. My husband was recently commissioned by a member of our local department of Agriculture to recreate one of our quail pens to be used to house several beeding pairs of bantam chickens. I was sure the cages would be too small for the chickens, but he assured me the chickens were tiny. Well, fast forward to Monday when we delivered the cage... He showed us his flock and offered us a pair of his birds. He wasn't kidding when he said they were tiny!
Hen weighs in at 418g
Roo is 610g
And the four eggs she's already laid average 20g each!
Anyone else here raising this breed? I have never heard if them before, but apparently they are very popular in Puerto Rico and can sell for upwards of $200 a breeding pair!
