I try my best, but I always end up failing it seems like. It never ends. Constantly counting carb, insulin units, calculating outcomes, factoring exercise, stress, life in general. It's an exhausting disease. You never get to just enjoy the basics in life like eating and drinking. You always gotta take insulin to cover it, or eat something to bring it up. I do okay, but it's never up to the doctors standards I guess.
:hugs :hugs

:hugs Good luck.

I think it's Rosie's third time on antibiotics. All of my dogs have had at least lymes, or anaplasmosis. Sometimes they are all on antibiotics at the same time.

Deer ticks are bad here in the center of the state. Luckily I got a decent vet. With 6 dogs I'm there on a regular basis for something or another.

I am hoping Rosie will hang in there for a few more years, but you never know. Dogs are fine up until they aren't. Gotta treasure every day with them. I put one to sleep last fall because of cancer. It's rough taking them to the end, but it's part of having them.
Holy moly!!!  and I thought the ticks were bad here! we have a lot of them (or so I thought) but yet the animals never seem to get anything. We did have one dog years ago that got Lyme and he was fine but that’s it. I think ours get a vaccine for Lyme though? Does your area have that? These chickens have really done a great job clearing out the ticks on the property too. :)

I got them all vaccinated for lymes, so than they got the other kind of diseases like anaplasmosis. There's a few other ones, and a few they haven't identified yet. So the vaccine helped, but yet it didn't, so I stopped it. I had at one time a hundred chickens running amok, and a batch of muscovy, but it only takes one or two ticks.
