Ouch. Really nasty stuff that tick junk is. Sorry to hear that on top of arthitis to boot? And to know Y'all are up in the snow belt too. Are you close enough to Lake Michigan for the humidity effect? Or a smaller local lake? Are ya hoping she can make it to the spring? I've had a lot of visits to the Vet over the last year. 3 of our pack over the last year have aged out on hospice care and we put them to sleep when the quality of life crossed that line..... I hope your twilight months are smoother once the antibiotic is done.
I think it's Rosie's third time on antibiotics. All of my dogs have had at least lymes, or anaplasmosis. Sometimes they are all on antibiotics at the same time.

Deer ticks are bad here in the center of the state. Luckily I got a decent vet. With 6 dogs I'm there on a regular basis for something or another.

I am hoping Rosie will hang in there for a few more years, but you never know. Dogs are fine up until they aren't. Gotta treasure every day with them. I put one to sleep last fall because of cancer. It's rough taking them to the end, but it's part of having them.

Whatever Rosie wants, Rosie gets. She's currently on her month of antibiotics for the anaplasmosis, and she gets a pain pill twice a day. X-rays showed some pretty significant arthritis in her spine. She still enjoys chasing the kitties daily, but by bedtime she gets pretty stiff, and tired. I know that feeling too. My last Boxer made it to 9, the one before to 10. They unfortunately aren't a long lived breed.
Good that she can still chase the kitties. :hugs

Dang it, I wanna go glamping now!!! Look how gorgeous some of these places are!! 😭 it’s apparently really trendy right now too 😂🤣

Some people might not get it. Or maybe they didn't have anything to call it then? It might be a new term, I'm not sure.
How is your blood sugar doing today?
I try my best, but I always end up failing it seems like. It never ends. Constantly counting carb, insulin units, calculating outcomes, factoring exercise, stress, life in general. It's an exhausting disease. You never get to just enjoy the basics in life like eating and drinking. You always gotta take insulin to cover it, or eat something to bring it up. I do okay, but it's never up to the doctors standards I guess.
