That’s an alligator gar. You need a big live bait for him and a big jug. If you have needle nose gar up there, they are easy to catch and a lot easier to process than a 8’ monster.

Wow, I’ve never seen a needle nose gar that big. I’ve posted this before but I can tell you how to easily catch gar if you want.

Wow, I’ve never seen a needle nose gar that big. I’ve posted this before but I can tell you how to easily catch gar if you want.

gargantuan got that big by staying around 12 mile island eating the scrap food thrown over by all the yachts and houseboats we actually opened up the digestive tract of some of the catfish one year and found lime slices etc

When I lived on my boat in the marina. The best bait for catfish was left over pizza!
