Kiki's found horse eggs—experiment Round 2

Great! Just playing the waiting game.
How are your chicks? Outside yet?
No :( they went outside Tuesday for the day, but I have to keep them inside for now because we are experiencing thunderstorms for the third day in a row.
The cockerel is starting to crow now and he sounds like a sqeaky toy :gig

my stupid roo is tearing the back feathers of my hens! And I'm pretty sure he's doing the deed wrong!:he:rant
Some people dress their hens in a thing...not awake yet...to help prevent that. How many hens does your rooster have?

A saddle or apron will protect their backs. If you don’t have enough girls for your boy he will continue to cause problems for your girls. Sometimes he has a favorite girl that gets a little to much attention.
I have found my young girls have more damage then my older hens. I think it’s in part because they don’t know enough to help the boys balance, if that makes sense.
