He looks mostly normal to me. Very little poofiness on his cheeks.

New born poof. I'm not sure he will have adult poof.

The yellow one has a single comb.
If he ends up with poofs as an adult then his dad is an Easter Egger (Araucana or Ameraucana crossed with whatever).
This is because the single comb is recessive so his dad carries a copy for it. Pure muffed Araucanas and Ameraucanas have pea combs which should be homozygous dominant. If they are crossed EE where one of his parents had a single comb, then he would be Heterozygous dominant, thus allowing for his chick(s) to have a single comb. Follow my gist?

Unfortunately, I had to cull the last baby.


I ended up pulling its top half out of the shell and it still didn't kick free after a couple hours. I carefully dumped it from the bottom half of the shell and I found it had several loops of intestine (at least 6 inches) still outside its body.

I'm secretly planning to keep egg X if it hatches and looks anything like our little girl here.

I will tell him the egg didn't make it.

Better hatch another two so he/she has company. Like two pages behind, might already be addressed.

I don't think it developed right. The baby pipped on its own and all the other chicks hatched at least 24 hours earlier.
