The first thing I did after Katrina is remove a pine tree from my back yard. Like you said hurricane missiles and I like my house, don't want it cut in half, thank you.
That is what we did too when these enormous hurricanes started to become quite regular:
We took down all the tall chestnuts and ash trees as well as pines and fir trees near our buildings.

I still have a giant oak tree in the front yard that surrounds my house. It's too old, and big, I don't have the heart to cut it down

No idea what will happen during a storm.

It was just a red oak. Nothing like a good hurricane to weed out all the weak trees for you! I’ve got some chain saw work ahead of me now though.
Stumps in the chicken runs! i have a couple in staggered heights in my bachelor run. The Boys play King -of-the-Mountain on them all the time - sometimes in earnest, but mostly just as a game. They're fun to watch! If you have a wet run, someone here suggested "paving" the bottom of it in slices. They raised the floor by several inches and biodegraded into good soil over time.

Our old house in Sulphur caught the neighbor's 3 footish diameter pine tree right after we sold it. I tried to get someone to cut those huge pine trees down and between the power lines and houses, no one wanted the head ache. Gorgeous old growth house killers. They survived a lot of hurricanes.

Being this big and old it must have seen and withstood quite a lot of hurricanes.
I would image so, I would love to know how old it is. It stretches about 65 or so feet from one branch to the other, frames my whole house and lot. Draps to the ground on the sides
