It's funny, but every active military person I've ever met has been a complete jerk. Retired and ex military people have been solid, reliable, great people, but I have yet to meet an active military member that I've gotten along with.

West Point... They sent me a letter trying to recruit me in my junior year of high school... I don't think I would have been a good fit.
Some of the youngsters ... both male and female ... yup. But as they move up in rank or along in age, or both, they seem to age well. I'm only there once a month to help out with fundraising, but I've met an awful lot of really decent people at the VFW.

We all have tastes that change. Some science has debated this on how often the changes occur. I have read/heard anywhere between every 7-11 years the changes occur. Well I have a few I can attest to having happen to me. 1) "Spanish rice" that we would have every now and again and they would make have a taste = ~2-3 tsp total on my plate. I would eat it but, didn't like the flavor combo. About age 30, it was a total non-issue for me (litterally one night). 2) Broccoli - from birth I Loved it, especially with cheese melted over it. Right around the same time I flipped on "Spanish rice"; so too I flipped on broccoli. I "will" still eat it but, it's not one I ever gravitate towards any more. I won't go so far as picking it off so (shrugs).... 3) I have to admit to becoming a chocolate snob. Up until about a decade ago I'd enjoy almost any chocolate without differentiation. It wasn't a favorite like it is for my Better-half or was for my Mom. Now adays, some "milk chocolate" I will choose not to eat and wait for a more worthy cocoa percentage to enjoy.

Maybe this is a dumb question but... 😐 Why do you need makeup a) in the bloom of youth and b) in the dark??? :lau I'm old and some peeps might think, "Geez! Why doesn't she paint that barn?" but I don't. I can never remember to put it on. 🤷‍♀️
I have the philosophy of "if a guy dont like me without makeup he dont deserve me", lol! That and I don't have the time nor money or deserve to put that much work into my appearance. But if others want to do it go for it...

Precisely! A pretty face and figure is all well and good -- well, I think that too pretty a face and figure attracts unwanted attention, but you get what I mean -- but people should be able to like you for your personality and good heart.
That being said, makeup does look like it'd be fun to mess around with.
I get the feeling that I'd make myself look like a guinea hen, though.

Does pushy and not willing to take no for an answer pretty much sum it up for you? Marines in particular. Retired not as bad but..... wow....
