did the attacks just start recently?? my cockerels would only attack me and not dh......I’m starting to think it was my colorful chicken boots and painted toenails.....dh also thought it may have had to do with my ponytail?? have you changed anything like that??

There have been reports of turkeys attacking specific colors such as reds and blues.

None of my cockerels and roosters even attempt to take me on. But.. I never imprint or play with any of the poultry that I raise.

i just noticed that one of my favorite quailies has a huge infection on one foot......so i guess it will go on the chopping block with the first group. i’m not really sure what caused it but guessing it got hung up in a fence or got pecked by one of the other birds. i had a turkey trying to peck a budgie through the hw cloth!

I hatched some several months back. Waited a couple months at least and never got any eggs so I sold them all. Had 8 I think.

Is this a chicken you speak of? Lop off his head! I have beef with chickens, they are pricks. I’ve never offed one, but by golly I know I could. I have a few BSLs and some RIRs that give me trouble.

Yes it’s a chicken!!! A gorgeous Lavender Orpington cockerel I hatched in November so I really don’t want to off him I’m hoping he’s just feeling his oats and doesn’t do it again lol

But homegrown is Kiki’s quail lol like from her own flock. I didn’t know if she was hatching her own or got some from someone else.

i love my quailies!! i keep around 50 in the aviary and while i’m not getting many eggs atm, my peak last year was 2-3 dozen per day. we typically butcher up to a dozen per month?? so yes definitely worth it
