What is a sinnel cake? I'm almost afraid of ask...

A type of cake traditional in the UK. It is a denser cake (think pound cake) made with spices, candied citrus peel, and dried fruit. It is filled and topped with marzipan then brushed with egg white and broiled for a few minutes to brown the marzipan.
