I have only seen one once, they are very large and turn into large beautiful nocturnal moths It was after KatrinaSphinx Moth Caterpillar

In the meantime they wreak havoc on garden plants. The Tomato Hornworm is just one of the Sphinx Moths. This particular one had a fondness for grape leaves. Many of the Sphinx Moths are diurnal.I have only seen one once, they are very large and turn into large beautiful nocturnal moths
