That’s understandable though cause they need to know it especially since it’s a vocational school right? So the people in there will all be going into IT? Or do they have other stuff there too?I would fail someone who was really trying but didn't learn the material. This would show up in their homework and test grades (I do hands on tests as well as written). I can't justify saying that someone is ready to get a job in IT if they don't know the basics.
I wouldn't fail someone without trying my best to help them, though, especially if they were really trying.
I had a guy who was close to 40 who failed because he couldn't get to class. He was single with no other commitments. He couldn't get to class, he didn't do his work. His mother was still doing everything for him so he'd never learned basic responsibility.
I actually kind of wish sometimes that other people did that because I’ve had professors before that would just give everybody an A or pass people that really shouldn’t pass or whatever and it sucks that someone who didn’t try at all gets the same as someone who did.
And you at least actually work with them and give them a chance to fix it or whatever. Have you ever had anyone start out doing well and then just like ghost and stop showing up?
And oh boy!
