Cause they’re still stuck on the whole “not splitting up families” thing even if they really really should in some cases! Or they think the kid is just making it up or being dramatic or something.
And they don’t even have a consistent policy or logic usually. I’ve heard a lot of stories of good parents getting accused of stuff or their kids getting taken away or whatever meanwhile they leave others in horrible situations. Makes no sense
The Gabriel Fernandez case was so tragic.
