I am not money motivated. Confidentiality is a very highly valued item. I will not abuse any confidences that have been bestowed upon me.So just how do you know so much about duck?
Have you saw her dungeon?
Just curious since if you have and lived to tell that may be valuable information.
Not all the time and it’s getting worse. My last job, the owner/manager let employees pull that crap all the time. I made this girl quit because she was coloring and I told her that since she is being paid to be here, she needs to do work, not color. Did I sugar coat it? Heck no I didn’t, there were dirty tables and she was coloring. Then she made a comment to another employee about punching me in the face. I wish she had so I could have laughed in hers and pressed charges. I couldn’t of touched her, that would have been child abuse. An employer will fire someone who doesn't do the work or who doesn't show up.
What's the air velocity speed of an unladen swallow? (I love that Monty Python and the Holy Grail movie)I know lots of things.
I'm currently drowning in paperwork and phonecalls trying to apply for "disability services" this semester.because they can't always make the class, treated like a high school kid. instead of an adult who has responsibilities.
Now I'm getting ads for collegesIf students have problems and they talk to me, I'll find ways to work with them. I do have a fair number of students who do work and have families. If they just don't show up, or don't do the work, I'll fail them. I teach at a vocational college, so I try to instill job work ethic. The adults with jobs and families usually pass because they understand what responsibility is. It's the ones fresh out of high school that usually fail because they've never been held accountable before.
There are times when your responsibility is to your job, and your family, like keeping a roof over their heads and food in their mouths. That shouldn't mean they don't get a chance to better themselves, because some teacher thinks their class is more important than a roof and food. Sorry we disagree, but I have been there and done that, twice and I thank God for the wonderful Professors I was blessed with. The ones who knew my infant son by his first name, because they met him, when I met with them. The ones who knew my husband worked days and attended Law School at night. All IMHO 'cause I have been there. If students have problems and they talk to me, I'll find ways to work with them. I do have a fair number of students who do work and have families.
