1) Commander's Palace
2)Parkway tavern (poor boys) don't challange the spelling or you get the whole history
3) Mandina's
4)St James cheese factory
5) Port Side (not in new Orleans, but close)
So is Sal and Judy's
You only gave me 4, so no dessert places were included or steak houses for that matter
:goodpost:

I've gotta try Parkway Tavern and Port Side the next time there, but I've been blessed to have eaten at the rest of them and they are so fantastic!

We all talk about how GREAT the food is and it is...but advice to any newbies in N.O. when you go to these great restaurants... keep an eye on the Waitstaff. The Waitstaff are pure service and poetry in motion, they embody PROFESSIONALISM TO THE MAX!

Mandina's and Commander's Palace are two of my favs.

Thank you very much for the list!

I was hoping you’d list Port of Call off West Esplanade. THE best cheeseburger I’ve ever eaten by far. If we could get there early enough that was a regular stop. Sal and Judy’s is very good. I’ve been to the one on the Northshore several times. Actually worked with Judy after their divorce at marina bar and grill where I lived at the time.

@Ursuline Chick and @sealer39

I'm such a redneck, I had an artist friend of ours do a "knockoff" of Rodrigue's Red Dog on plywood and a I built a cheap frame and mat using chicken wire and hung the damn thing on the wall! I think George would approve though!

Germany here. Great grandfather actually came over and started our family here. My family speaks German. Makes for awkward family dinners with boyfriends growing up.
I dated a 1st generation German from Wisconsin for a while. She had some relatives come over from Germany to visit and when I told them I was born and raised in Florida they said, “oh, so your an Aborigine”. I’ve been called many things but I never thought I be called THAT! :lau
They just meant that I was a native from Florida.

Oh wow, that is soooo cool. Yes Port of Call should have been included, just don't have more than one Neptune Monsoon. (Or prepare to crawl home)
